Recovering.....

Just a quick note to say that I am back from the weekend show and sale and finally (somewhat) recovered.

For some reason, I find these events incredibly stressful, though I am not sure why.  My darling son does all the driving, hauling, packing and unpacking of the car and much of the big set up (tables and such).  He fetches refreshment and takes pictures and never once complains about how tedious and boring I am sure it is for him.  Most teenagers would not be so agreeable....he is a real gem, this one!

Attendance was better than last year which helped sales.  Recieved many, many wonderful compliments on the Alice Project.  Though it only garnered a second place ribbon, it was featured in the Entertainement section of the local morning newspaper.  Debie's White Rabbit was a major hit with browsers and I could have sold him a dozen times over. Yay Debie! :-)

I still have some of the candies and a few "Insanity Chairs" which I will be offering for sale on my Etsy shop tomorrow, Thursday.  Not sure what time but I'll post a blog message when I do. I've been spending the last two days (plus today) tending to everything I neglected while working on things for the show but I'll be back to mini's by the weekend.

Glad to hear you are home safe and sound Tabs. Shows are tiring. It is disappointing when you enter something like that and put so much hard work in but on the upside it was a Second and not lower. Plus you got lots of compliments.

You will do even better next time

Susan,

Congratulations on your 2nd place win. The bigger congratulations goes to you for having raised such a wonderful son. I agree those shows are stressful when you are there selling. I remember it very well.

Susan, that's awesome! Second place and featured in the paper!! Congratulations!! Your Alice in Wonderland project is amazing! Sounds like you did pretty well with sales too!!! Yay!!!
I understand completely, I would be stressed and worn out too. In fact, I probably would have been stressing out over it for several months before the show, lol.
But now you can relax and take it easy!! :)

Perdona pero la traduccion del comentario era ilegible.
Te felicito por el segundo puesto y por tener un hijo tan paciente como has dicho pocos adolescentes se comportan asi hoy en dia

Susan, so pleased it was a good show for you.
I think its lovely the help your son gave and you should be so proud of him.
Shows are so stressful at times. I thought i was ok but the first two hours all i did was panic and so know how you feel. Plus i have dyscalculia and having to add up infront of people really stressed me out. Never mind my crying/panic attack just before the doors opened.
So pleased you came second, but it should have been first. I bet you are really prud though.
Will look forward to your sales on etsy too.
Go put your feet up and and relax for a day or two.
Lots of love, Nikki xxx

Wow second place and a spot in the paper is excellent. I can't think what might have beat it to first place though.

you have an amazing son...obviously very well bought up and he'll make a wonderful husband one day :-)

Glad the show went well overall....dont think I could do one.

Thank you all for your kind words. Yes, my son is the best... :-)

I actually liked the little box that came in first. It was a very sweet shabby chic-type sewing room...very nicely done. It seems like I forget to get a picture of it though :-(

Congratulations on a good show and a second place Susan !
Your son sounds so lovely helping you. I usually take my husband to help me, its a long day if you dont have a helper.
It is exhausting though so hope you can relax now for a day or two.
