Alice was complaining that there were no fancy candies on the table.....
...cupcakes, cookies, petit fours and a great big cake. But no bonbons.
I hadn't been able to find anything except Christmas or Halloween candy and that didn't seem right. But since I was dismissed from serving Jury Duty, I had some time and decided to try my hand at candy. I had made it in real life and felt I was up to the task.
As in real life, miniature "hand dipped chocolates" are not particularly difficult to make but they are incredibly fussy.
I am quite happy with the results. I am taking them with me to the Lakeland Show this weekend. If they don't sell there, I think I'll put them in my etsy shop on Monday.
Should have put a ruler or something in for scale....drats. The larger "plates" are 7/8 inch and the smaller are 5/8 inch.
I wish they were real....I need a chocolate.

Hi Tabitha, it took me a while to realise they were miniatures and not a treat for you! Lovely work,I am sure Alice will be pleased!
Great work, but wrong time to show me such "juicy" pictures. I like to loose weight and now I have to go to my secret chocolate corner LOL
They are wonderful. And I love the little serving dishes.

Susan they are just gorgeous!!! I love the plates they are on. They are as good as any mini food artists work I have ever seen!!! Actually they are displayed better than any candies I have seen. GREAT work. I love the heart ones.

Tabitha, these bonbons are PERFECT! Are you kidding me, you've never made them before????? WOW!
Thank you all for your lovely comments. No, I have never made miniature candy before but with a fair amount of patience, all things are possible. Of course, as with real life candy-making, there were a few that would have been "eaten" by the cook because they weren't just right. lol.
My grandmother taught my mother and she taught me that presentation is everything and to always put forth your best work.
They are excellent...can't beleive it is your first go...I am very impressed :-)
Hope none of the imperfect ones got eaten by the cook here lol
Did you make the paper cases too ?
Yup Jayne, I made the little paper cups, too. Not that hard if you make yourself a sort of mold that helps form them. Once spritzed with water, they keep their shape pretty well.
Duh....I shape my petals by wetting them as well. Not thinking today lol
They are all so lovely! Yum! :)
Perfect!!!
